The
present government like its predecessors has continued on the same line of
import-substitutions that with it's an in-built mechanism deepens the
structural crises of the Ethiopian society. As everybody knows, the
production of beer and alcoholic drinks, and including the expanding of
sugar factories could not be changed into instruments of labor. As they
are imported materials, and installed without deep intellectual analysis,
they have not only the ability of deforming the material accumulation
process but also distort the spiritual and intellectual capability of the
society in general.....

Development
Planning for Africa.
If
we look closer to these policies of the World Bank, its main target is to
tight African economies to the same old division of labor by subtly
compelling them to specialize on one or two agricultural products or
mineral resources. This systematic process of pushing Africa to the old
division of labor occurs in the name of the so-called factor endowment
theory. According to this theory, since all African countries are
naturally endowed by those agricultural products and mineral resources,
they must engage their activities only on this kind of division of labor.....
