The
conspirators and collaborators of Tseggai Mebrahtu, who wrote an
acrimonious flip-flop article a few weeks ago, are now trying to shift the
focus of contention of the last couple of Weeks from Menilik II
relationship with the Italian Government that resulted in violence, lose
of life, and ceding of Ethiopian territory, to the issue of
"Amhara" dominance or hegemony. There is no question that
Tseggai and his fellow conspirators are caught in their own lies and
indefensible positions of aggrandizing the despicable feudal order of
Ethiopia of the last one hundred years since the 1900. They are now trying
to shift the argument on the issue of the treasonous activities of
Menilik to the issue of ethnic conflict between "Amharas" and
others. This type of changing issues is what is commonly known as
"red herring" or "straw man" fallacy.
They
are trying to recast the issue as if I am against all Amharas; my
criticism is very specific: it is a criticism of the Mehale Sefaris and a
handful of Shoans as part of the inner group of the Imperial household who
oppressed and devastated the Ethiopian people for over a Century from the
time of Menilik to date. All other Ethiopians identified as Amharas (includes
all of Shoa with few exceptions), Oromos, Tygreans, Wolloies, Somalis,
Wolaitas, Gurages, et cetera were/are victims of the relentless oppressive
feudal political and social culture of Ethiopia. Beware of this
modern days Greeks bearing gifts. We will stick to the issue of Menilik
and his activities not because Menilik is an "Amhara," but
because of his treasonous activities. The issue is Menilik, and his
role as a statesman, not his pedigree.
