Thanks for having the undivided map of our
homeland we grew up knowing about. Simply it is and will be a question
of time. Hong Kong was ruled by the British for over 156 years, the
Germans were divided for 40 years, the Yemenis were reunited and so were
the Vietnamese. The only difference is they never denied their identity.
True history cannot be changed with falsehood when it comes to Ethiopia.
Time might not be on our side now, bit should we accept fiction that is
being imposed on us through the barrel of the gun? I think we
NEVER should. People should be judged by their character and not by
their ethnicity. Our goal should be undivided Ethiopia with equal right
and opportunities for all.
I like your web site. The layout with the
Ethiopian map and flag is attractive. Keep up the good work.

I read the Metaphysics of Fractal political philosophy it was
quite unusual to find such high quality arguments with a new critical
thinking look at democratization. Having said all that, Professor Tecola
use of historical example excellently shows how knowledge relates to
power, and indeed he took a passionate view of critical concern for truth.
History shows that beliefs held as acts of faith will almost always come
to be seen silly latter on. We grew up believing that the world to be flat
(hence there were religious and superstitious) but the early twentieth
century it was refuted by rational scientific method. Such belief did get
institutionalized in our educational system. Change is evident with or
without our wills.
On the first paragraph at the end, you stated you come up
with a new political philosophy that might help us to break why
is it new, how you will change each individual? You did not address
the key ingredients, like education et cetera
On the third paragraph The modern world seems to have
followed predictable processes of democratization that has left
communities all over the world worse off than the state they started out
with Worse off than colonialism dictatorship, communism needs
explanation. What is a better political system than democracy?
On the second page the second paragraph one thing is
absolutely clear the constitution are not remedies for social justice.
Thus we can discount the importance If I may disagree it is No
because you need to create environment to make constitution work but I
agree that constitution are not vehicles for the establishment of
liberal democratic tradition, rather they are manifest evidence of results
than
On the 3rd paragraph Rightly, people may worry
about the using ethics as the center of government objective would to the
possibility of waking down some form of slippery-slope to religious
fanaticism (Democracy
are usually secular) why you think they will? If we took the US ethics
have a lot to do with democracy see the Bill of Rights. And you need to
define ethics and list them. On the same page at the end of the third
paragraph where the new metaphysics of fractal political philosophy
comes to play Need more explanation
On the 4th paragraph on the second line you stated
either/or type of reasoning if so either/or = dualism not dogmatic=
Rational. I lost you here
you stating rational as a gray area please explain. At the end of
the paragraph on the same page the last line on our social relations,
our treatment of our children and the female members. Does this mean we
by pass the dictators with their army police force to get to the family?
On page 4 needs more clear explanation.
The activities we undertake should embody the search for
meaning and commonality. Thus should move us towards reconciliation and
common response to shared problems, by moving beyond the scripted tropes
that have been recited too often in relation between Black and White.
Active engagement through sustained dialogue as yours can help us to
discover the common humanity concealed by from and obscured by fear and
insecurity. We need to develop a process of communication capable of
generating new insight. This would challenge Western philosophy and
Ethiopian cultural values to better understand their own values and ideas
as we learn to share them in new ways. The collective imaginations of the
west are united by the same idea of purpose and also by cultural loyalty
and adherence to ideas for social justice.
It is the property of whole acting as unitary function that yields
for greater result. To commence our social movement, we have to stimulate
reflection and find meaning in the common tragedy that has befallen us.
Today Ethiopians and developing countries faces a challenge
of reorganizing and redefining themselves within the context of world
order like WTO, IMF et cetera So, where does this leave us? In professor
Tecolas view, we are admirably poised to reinvigorate the idea of
enlightenment. It is not from the road of science that he constructs his
philosophy but from the path of social philosophical reflection he takes
off. And there is always audience receptive to scientific proof against
social change. Professor Tecola is attempting bravely to outline the most
powerful insights of traditional institutional structure detrimental to
our progress. His views are not cynical but possible and hopeful to build
a progressive pragmatic future. It makes such idea worth taking seriously.
Sincerely,
Bereket Kiros
Tecola,
We
do not know each other but I have read your
many writings about the boundary issue, the Meles
tyranny and other issues.
I wanted to say thank you for your consistent
stand - despite the nay sayers.
I have but three comments on the Editorial:
1. In the conclusion, first paragraph, the word
"violets" should be
"violates'.
2. Your summary in section II is Excellent!
That should be often quoted and used
by those
who need to raise the issue of land
ownership
of that which is Ethiopia's.
3. In an earlier article you used the term, Mehale
Sefaries and Ethiopian friends helped
me
understand the meaning and in
context, the
meaning. For English readers, that
term has
no meaning. However, to make the
editorial
have meaning in its completeness,
then the
term should be either converted to an
English
equivalent or structured around the
idea it
contains.
Please do continue to write and critique the
craziness of the Prime Misery and his buchilla.
With regards,
Returned Peace Corps volunteer,
Harar, Ethiopia
Greetings!
Thank you very much for your article on 22.01.04 We shall never accept the
so- called Boundary commission's decision. Badme, Irob and Afar land are integral
part of Ethiopia.
Melese and other stooges must go. Western Governments spearheaded by
the US, UK and Germany must stop their meddling in the affairs of
Ethiopia. Ethiopia shall rise!
Bravo Tecola! You have done very excellent job! Do please continue your
work.
Yours truly,
Haile Megersa

Dear Mr. Tecola,
We read your article on related to our late uncle Aklilu Habtewold. We
don't need to tell you how much we have appreciated the contents. As per
his own words: "History will witness sooner or later everybody
contribution
to the well being of our Nation". We thing that through people like
you and
Ambassador Zewde Reta the contribution of our uncle and his colleagues is
being witnessed. We thank you very much.
From Aklilu Habtewold's family

Selam Tecola:
Thank you very, very much for posting and adapting my article in your
website. I can't tell you how excited I was. I hope this sad story rings
in all Ethiopians ears and address the issues to useful sources. Poverty
and lack of empowerment is a better indicator of environmental racism and
a slow strangulation of thousands of poor defenseless and largely
voiceless victims. I hope something good comes out for those despaired
victims.
Thank you again and God Bless

if you believe that Eritrea is Ethiopian
territory why do you care about badme whether it falls on tigrayan or
Eritrean side of the border since they are both inside what you believe
greater Ethiopia. i was just wandering if you are living in the real world
or in the past. i like your argument about being concerned Ethiopian and
caring for the Ethiopian people but i just came from Ethiopia and could
not understand that you are years behind the real world for ethiopians. i
just want to remind you to live in the present world because what you are
arguing is non sense for present time Ethiopian people.

Selam Mrs. Hagos...
I wanted to introduce myself to you, while
also sharing with you that I was extremely delighted to hear the news that
you spoke in Boston concerning Ethiopia and the Ethiopian people. For the
past year I have been dating an Ethiopian and have become familiar and
extremely interested with all of the problems going on and history in that
great country.
So much it has prompted such a hunger and
thirst in me to absorb any and everything concerning this spiritually rich
land. I personally have not had the opportunity to experience and share in
one of those highly emotionally-charged meetings, but am looking forward
to doing so not-to-far in the distant future. I enjoy your website very
much and visit it at least once a day. My name is xxxxxxxxx, I was born
and raised in Philadelphia and currently reside in the Atlantic City New
Jersey area. My next challenge is to learn to converse conversationally in
Amharic or Tigrinia.
Happy New Year to you and may God Bless you
with excellent health, prosperity, and strength to continue His fight!

Dr Tecola, you are living still with
ancient history, you are just barking like a dog. Doctor please use your
mind for a different purpose, how you can save your country from starving
every year. I have a lot of Ethiopian friends they are just talking how to
live together, I wonder still you are living in those bad old days.
Eritrea is an independent country, its flag hanging at the UN, case is
closed. You still put old Ethiopian map, does it give you mental
satisfaction. Doctor come to your sense, do not waste your time.

Dear Dr. Tekolla
I am proud to have an Ethiopian brother to teach me every thing I should
know about my country but most importantly defending her from the monsters
in our mist, in their attempt to reduce us in to their little world they
live in for their daily bread.
I, though not as enlightened as some of my compatriots always felt that
when Wayanes and their like are raising our emotion with the one scare
thing left for us-our Ethiopiawent, I believe the biggest damage is caused
in their attempt to control the economic institutions of out country.
If you follow their economic policy and their grab on any thing that they
fell can extend their power, from discouraging investment of Ethiopians in
favor of foreigners' particularly Arab investors, their total monopoly of
many important industries and undermining other Ethiopians from excelling,
and most importantly by taking the vast majority Ethiopian hostage
(peasant farmers) by their input and land policy, their total monopoly of
the means of communication including internet, mass media and telephone
lines. I believe more than any thing we are more in danger in their
attempt to isolate us from the economic well being of our people more than
their political maneuvering.
I urge you and as I would do others, as much effort should be taken by all
to expose their clandestine economic/business operation of these Sheba
agents, since eventually Ethiopians can only defend their country when
they are well enough to get their daily bread and beyond.
I appreciate and admire your dedication in defending the mother land and I
will appreciate if you break the silence of what is being done to make
Ethiopians poorer by the Wayanes/Shbias
You are an inspiration for all of us

Dear Professor Tecola,
I had a chance to listen to you speaking on the issues of Ethiopia, in
Toronto.
I enjoy reading articles posted at your new website, authored by Tseggai
Mebrahtu,
yourself, Girma W. Senbet, Aleme Eshete. I must include Dr. Ghelawdeos,
for his
all-inclusive approach in addressing similar issues. I am sure there are
many other scholars, equally concerned and dedicated. I look forward to
reading many more
enlightening, objective and broader views based on historical facts.
I would like to thank and congratulate you, and the other participants, on
what you have been doing, since the last couple of years, on the issues of
Ethiopia-Eritrea conflicts,
their governments, external influences and their implications in the lives
of the people.
I hope your intellectual campaigns and teachings help to understand the
root causes
of our problems, so that we can stand united for our common interests: for
a sovereign proud Ethiopia of many ethnic groups and religions, with
equality and basic democratic human rights respected.
Definitely, an artificially and illegally set demarcation or iron wall
between brothers/sisters, or UN peace keepers or arbitrators, or breaking
nations into pieces wouldn't solve the problems!
For a genuine peace and progress, let's free ourselves from the immediate
problems of narrow nationalist or chauvinist thinking. Let's stop being
tools of external forces. Let's think and act collectively, as independent
people, and use our natural resources for our common good, if we really
want peace, prosperity and harmony among peoples of different
nationalities and faiths in our Ethiopia, or in the world for that matter.
Well, thank you and continue the good work, professor Tecola
